NOS (New Old Stock)

We use this expression to refer to parts that have not yet been attached or used. These can be original from the vehicle manufacturer, but also come from a contemporary accessory manufacturer. Such parts have sometimes spent 40 years in different workshops and parts stores. Storage and transport traces cannot be ruled out, especially with larger parts. Normal signs of aging on NOS parts are not a reason for a complaint and do not automatically entitle you to return the item.

Very important: Depending on the type of spare part, such an NOS part can also be "overlaid". Rubbers harden, plastic parts become brittle. Car parts that are 30, 40 or 50 years old must be handled with due care.
We check all NOS parts for this damage before shipping.

Incidentally, the increase in NOS is called NIB: "New in Box", i.e. a NOS spare part in the manufacturer's packaging from back then.

Apparently there are even people who collect just these boxes ...
