Spares Fit

At Motomobil, we sometimes hear the strangest stories.

For example, that someone paints sheet metal parts that are supposed to be attached to their car without prior adjustment. Bad idea because: The sheet metal parts available today for cars of 30 or 40 years of age are usually reproductions. Depending on which tools they are made on, the fit of one repro fender can differ from that of the other on the storage shelf. It will fit the car, but maybe you have to rework the joint to the door or the cutout for the turn signal a little with a file, and then of course it's stupid if there is already paint on it.
The same applies of course to repair sheets and parts to be welded in or on. Hopefully nobody would have the idea to paint them beforehand anyway.

So: Before any type of paint build-up or other processing, always clarify exactly whether the sheet metal really fits and whether it may need to be reworked. We always try to deliver the best fit and quality, but as described, reproductions can also turn out differently in one production batch.
